Multi-family residential building DOT Sofia with six above-ground and one underground level, which are located hotel, restaurant and gallery in one.
The building is located in the district of DOT. 150, UPI V-5, zone B-2, SO ,,Vazrazhdane'', Sofia and was designed by "I/O architects" - Vyara Zhelyazkova and Georgi Katov. The overall design and implementation of the heating and air conditioning system was carried out by Re Energy Engineering Ltd.
The heating system includes the construction of an installation with minimum future operating costs and maximum use of natural resources. A Thermia Mega-M heat pump, which has a rated heating capacity of 11-45kW, was used to cover the heat losses of the premises and provide hot water for heating during winter and transitional seasons.
The main heat source of the building is a heat pump heating system with seven vertical geothermal boreholes of closed type with a depth of 90 m each. The geothermal boreholes are made in accordance with European VDI 4640 standards. Underfloor heating has been installed to cover the heating and cooling needs of the entire ground floor, the second-floor common room and all bathrooms. The installation is low-temperature water pumped with 40/33°C hot water. Ceiling cooling (tempered concrete) has been implemented for the restaurant area and the second-floor common room.
The installation is low-temperature water pumped with 40/33°C hot water. Ceiling cooling (tempered concrete) has been implemented for the restaurant area and the second-floor common room. The installation is a low-temperature water-pumped system with 18/16°C cold carrier water. The air conditioning for the living floors includes fan coil units for concealed floor mounting, and in the bathrooms, pounders with floor coils tied in after them as per the plans.
The design includes general ventilation for the restaurant. The ductwork shall consist of round spiral wound galvanized sheet metal and rectangular ductwork as per plans. Silencers are provided on the main ducts downstream of the air handling unit to reduce the noise level in the room, and a local exhaust ventilation system is provided in the kitchen.
